5 Crystals for Connecting with the Moon

Last week I shared some information about how I profile crystals in my grimoire. Although I am not an expert in crystals by any means, I have been connecting and utilizing them more and more lately! I really feel that creating profiles helps me understand and better connect with any element of my practice, crystals included. Having both scientific and magickal knowledge about the tools I’m using is essential, and physically writing that information down in my grimoire helps to cement it in my mind.

For this new moon, I’m sharing the profiles I’ve written for a few of my favorite moon crystals. All of these are deeply connective, awaken your intuition and create space for magick in your life.

Here are a few ways to use moon crystals:

Lie on your back in savasana and place the crystals either around your body or on your forehead (over your third eye) for meditation.

Place small tumbled moon crystals in a charm bag with other ingredients focused on increasing your intuition and psychic awareness or balancing your emotions.

Hold a moon crystal in your cupped hands during meditation.

Although most of the crystals on this list contain aluminum or other metals that are not safe for consumption, you can still

make a gem elixir with them by placing the stone or stone in a glass jar and then placing the glass jar in a bowl of water and charging under the moon. Even though the water does not touch the stones directly in this method (and thereby does not become contaminated), it still becomes charged with their moon-centric energy.

Use a moon crystal to aid in a tarot or oracle reading. Simply choose a stone you feel called to, shuffle and spread out your cards in a half circle and hold the crystal over the cards until you feel drawn to one or more.
