Last month, I shared a post featuring my five favorite essential oils for making magick. Today, I’m sharing my favorite essential oil blends for making magick. All of the blends discussed in this post are from Young Living, but I’ve listed the basic ingredients so you can approximate them yourself if you wish.
There are lots of ways to use essential oils in magick and spells, from diffusing the oils to anointing your body with them. Oils come in both “singles”, which are oils from a single plant, and in blends, which are a blend of several oils in one bottle.

Egyptian Gold is a lovely blend made up of some seriously potent (and seriously expensive) ingredients. I love how spiritual and specifically pagan this blend feels (even though, all cards on the table, I’m pretty sure Young Living intends it to be more of a Christian blend). It’s quite refreshing and purifying, thanks to ingredients like spruce and cedarwood, but also has floral and spice notes. I like to put this one in my diffuser for moon rituals and spells to put myself in a spiritual mood.
Ingredients: Frankincense, Balsam fir, Lavender, Myrrh, Hyssop, Black spruce, Cedarwood, Vetiver, Rose, Cinnamon
Envision is pretty much my favorite blend ever, especially at the new moon. This blend is uplifting and sweet, designed to fill a room with fragrance and help you envision your ideal future. With some of the most traditionally witchy of herbs, including lavender, sage and geranium, what could be better at the new moon?
Ingredients: Black spruce, Geranium, Orange, Lavender, Sage, Rose
Purification is the blend I go through most frequently. This blend is perfect for purifying your space before a ritual or just freshening up the place after a fish dinner… yes, I speak from experience.
Ingredients: Citronella, Rosemary, Lemongrass, Tea tree, Lavandin, Myrtle
Sensation is one of Young Living’s sexiest blends. This blend is all about creating feelings of love, affection and romance so add a few drops of it to your next rose potpourri or to the diffuser before an intimate encounter.
Ingredients: Coriander, Ylang Ylang, Bergamot, Jasmine, Geranium
Valor is a unique blend that Young Living is pretty famous for. This blend is intended to promote positivity. I tend to also think of it as promoting strength and like to use it when I’m dealing with depression or conflict.
Ingredients: Black spruce, Camphor, Blue tansy, Frankincense, Geranium
